BAMD Composites confirmed as Platinum Sponsor for Formula Student Team.

BAMD Composites Ltd are delighted to announce that they are the confirmed Platinum Sponsor for Kingston University’s bid at the 2022 Formula Student, for a second year.

The annual, five-day event is Europe's most established educational motorsport competition and is run by the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE). It challenges university teams from across the globe to design, build and run a single seat race car, putting it to test at the world-renowned Silverstone Circuit. Last year saw Kingston University secure the Institution’s best-ever Formula Student finish, placing them third overall in the endurance event – a 28 lap, 22km drive lasting 40 minutes, which pushes the cars to its limits.

BAMD Composites Managing Director, Sam Hudson said, “Supporting up and coming talent to the industry is something that is important to us here at BAMD. Patrick Sheen, Lecturer and Lead of the Formula Student Programme added, "We’re really excited to be working with BAMD again this year, casting their expert knowledge and graft into our newly developed aerodynamics package. The project is set to be an even fiercer one with over 100 teams at Silverstone in July but with new sponsors, an upgraded powertrain, and a set of wings – we’re confident it’ll be a fruitful year for the team.”
